Phoenix/Canyon de Chelly (May 1986)
In the spring of 1986 I went to Phoenix and took a road trip with Marty Moffat to discover the Navajo Nation’s Canyon de Chelly park. We also went to the Navajo Nation’s tribal pow wow.
Puerto Vallarta (February 1987)
In February of 1987 I took an early spring break trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with Kris Clark. We stayed at the Sheraton Bouganvias hotel but didn’t stay the whole week. We decided to leave a few days early and go to Guadalajara to get in some good shopping. Mission accomplished! We went to the Sunday market in the village Tonala and ended up coming back with five suit cases full of pottery, Christmas tree ornaments and wreaths.
Hawaii (November 1988)
I had always been told that I should save traveling to Hawaii for my honeymoon. I decided I had waited long enough and in November 1988 I went to Oahu, Maui, and the big island of Hawaii with Gail Bankhead. We went just to Oahu for a second trip in February 1989 and saw the Tom’s (Belliston and Rose) there.
